CASHMERE
Cashmere is a fine and soft fibre that comes from the downy undercoat of a goat (not a sheep!), the capra hircus. Our cashmere comes from the Himalayas and the Inner Mongolia region. Goats there live in a harsh climate, where temperatures can dip well below -40C, it’s windy and altitudes are above 4000 metres.
It is a very special and highly sought-after material, thanks to its unique properties. It does look and feel amazing to wear, but it’s also extremely versatile and practical. Let’s see what makes it so special!
THE FINER THE SOFTER
Cashmere fibres are around six times finer than a human hair! The finer the fibres, the softer the cashmere!
NATURALLY CURLY
Cashmere is up to eight times warmer than its beloved cousin wool, but it is much lighter (making it ideal for our little ones!). The fabric’s special crispy structure holds pockets of warm air close to the body, keeping it warm when it’s cold, but cooling down if your little one starts getting too hot. This makes our miniatures perfect for the whole year round.
100% FREEDOM
Lanolin and coarse fibre are common causes of skin irritation for our little ones. Unlike wool, cashmere does not contain lanolin, and its fibres are much less coarse than sheep wool. That’s why people with wool allergies or sensitivity are rarely (if ever) allergic or sensitive to cashmere (it is hypoallergenic). Our 100% cashmere miniatures will give your little ones the freedom to run around and explore without feeling an itch.
BYE BYE BAD SMELLS
Cashmere has naturally antibacterial properties which make it naturally resistant to odor.
IN LOVE WITH THE PLANET
Cashmere is a natural fibre. Disposing of it won’t hurt the planet - it will essentially disappear within six months.
OUR CASHMERE IS TOXIC-FREE
Your little ones’ skin is thinner and more delicate than yours, so you’ll be glad to know that our cashmere is totally toxic-free. It is dyed and treated according to the “Detox commitment”, a project sponsored by Greenpeace, in full respect of the environment and the health of workers and consumers, in particular our little ones, through quality materials and procedures.
Slight variations in the cashmere quality, colour, weaving and sizing may be observed from piece to piece. This represents the beautiful organic nature of Littlepessi miniatures. Every miniature is one of a kind.
